About us

Footloose films was founded in 2018. By a bunch of good-natured, agreeable people who can barely agree on anything. We would have started earlier but we just couldn't agree on a name. Since then, there are fewer things we agree on, apart from making good films and most importantly working with the nicest crew, who have all become friends now.

In the process we have made films for brands like Vodafone, Sony, Standard Chartered, Swiggy, Hotstar among others. Brands we once wished we would work for, while working out of our homes and daydreaming.

These days we have an office to daydream in. And with all of us here, it doesn't feel very different from home.

Kedhhar Barrve

Meet Kedhhar!

Founder, producer and punching bag of Footloose Films. The man handles director tantrums, client mood-swings, agency shenanigans with patience of a hermit and then goes above and beyond to order vanity vans for dogs at his shoots. He has developed a slipped disc in the process. But that doesn't stop him from always having our backs.

Surya Balakrishnan

Meet Surya!

Surya was born to be a director. If that is not evident from her films, it is evident from the fact that she is not very good at anything else. You won't find Surya leaving the post schedule because she has to go play tennis or something. Because she can't play tennis. Or any sport. But she can make a kickass documentary on the girls who do play. Whether it's a documentary that takes her to the slums of Dharavi, a feature film that takes her to the Berlin film festival, or a short film that takes her into everyone's hearts, films are better off for Surya. And Surya is better off for films. Because without them, Surya would be the world's worst tennis player, at best.

P.S: This has not been written by her, because she can't spell.

Nishant Goyal

Meet Nishant!

Nishant has been working across media since he reached puberty in 1997. Yes, he was late to the milestone. In the next 23 years he did stints writing advertising copy, film production, on air promo production. It is said he has learnt a lot from his failures. However, this is not said by him. Currently, he is busy doing a questionable job of raising his daughter and three cats. That takes up most of his time outside of directing and also serves as a great motivation for his work. Because cat food and school fees are expensive.

Indrasish Mukerjee

Meet Indrasish!

Indrasish Mukherjee-Bengali by birth, Tamilian by heart. Mostly disappears just before a PPM! His phone is dead or he’s singing a song or something and the team around him goes cuckoo trying to find him and yet he is everyone’s favourite. Usually seen listening  to SPB, dancing to Mithun or singing Kumar Sanu and of course telling the best tales

The only thing we worry about is when he walks into the grading room with his sun shades!

Pallavi Singh

Meet Pallavi!

The softest voice at Footloose Films but no one has managed to ever say no to her. The most trustful, but no one has managed to take advantage of her. The apple of everyone's eye, and the moral compass of everyone's soul. Leaves every party early but still no party ever starts without her. Juggles motherhood and her job like the way it is only otherwise seen in ad films like a boss!

Aashna Dhiman

Meet Aashna!

Aashna is filled with GenZ sprightliness yet when you see the photographs she takes, there is a calmness to all of them so different from her otherwise bubbly energy we get to experience. She has a unique eye for looking at things, she’s been one of the fastest learners we know and currently she’s working on mastering all things AI.

Her eyes pop when she sees anything chicken or smells anything dessert. Often mistaken to be underage, she can leave you surprised if you sit and chat with her over some chai because she has the most beautiful stories to tell.

Vibhuti More

Meet Vibuthi!

The sweet and reliable finance guru who ensures timely payments and her kindness is cherished by everyone, making her an exception to the desire for improvement at work.

Surendra Koli

Meet Surendra Koli!

Often engrossed in his phone at work, is valued for his musical talents but not for his tea-making skills.
